The Fall 2018 call for proposals for LARGE allocations of computing time on the High Performance Computing  resources of the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC) is now open and will remain so until 19 October 2018.

The allocations are for the period 1 January 2019 - 31 December 2019.

The Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC) is a research infrastructure that provides resources for large scale computation to meet the needs of researchers from all scientific disciplines and from all Swedish universities, research institutes, etc. See www.snic.se

Every six months SNIC issues a call for proposals for large allocations of computing time.
The deadline for submissions to this call is *19 October 2018 at 3 PM CET*. At that time, access to the online application system for this call will be closed.

The proposals that are submitted within the deadline will be reviewed by the Swedish National Allocations Committee (SNAC) with the help of external experts.
The proposals will undergo both scientific and technical evaluation.

How to apply:
SNIC uses an online proposal system for all allocations on SNIC HPC resources which is located at: https://supr.snic.se/

We encourage you to carefully read the instructions before submitting your proposal.
Instructions are available at the SNIC website: http://snic.se/allocations/large-allocations/

You are also encouraged you to start working on your proposal well before the deadline.

Available resources for the Large Fall 2018 call can be viewed at the SNIC website: http://snic.se/allocations/large-allocations/

Note that allocations can be requested on one or more resources in a single application.

Please also note:

  • The new resource Tetralith at NSC is now in operation and the old resoruce Triolith is dismantled. Read more about Tetralith at the NSC website: https://www.nsc.liu.se/systems/tetralith/
  • The resource Crex is the centre storage at UPPMAX, attached to the Rackham compute cluster. Proposals requesting Crex storage in SNAC Large must also include requests for compute resources totaling more than the limits of SNAC Medium(100 kch/month), at least part of which are on Rackham. Storage at SNIC centra other than UPPMAX is handled by individual consideration by the centra.
  • The requirements for the activity report were updated during 2016. Please see the SNIC website for more information: http://snic.se/allocations/large-allocations
  • The publications list is requested as a separate file, not as a part of the PI´s CV
  • SNIC explicitly requests the acknowledgement of SNIC in scientific publications that required the use of SNIC resources, services or expertise. Papers, presentations and other publications that feature work that relied on SNIC should include an acknowledgement.
